No, A.I. Can’t Write Your Novel. Yet.

(Volume Three)

In November of 2022, when OpenAI released ChatGPT-3 to the public, most writers and creatives stayed away.  In droves.  If artists leveraged the fresh, new artificial intelligence tools in their endeavors, how would their fandoms ever again know whether their future achievements were created by a human with a soul or a “robot”, and lose respectability in the process.

It wasn’t long before futurists suggested that AI would soon take most human jobs, and yes, somehow that included writing and the arts.  But could a computer create more engaging, more enlightened content than a human soul with feelings and experiences?  The conclusion was that yes, AI could imitate human expression, but did we then have to wonder, should we even want it to?

In this new book, No, AI Can’t Write Your Novel. Yet. Volume Three, Thorny Nettles chronicles the first year of generative AI’s availability to the public.  She explores many popular methods of writing, and in the words of the AI itself, introduces creatives to the extensive tools available to make their own content better than before (and yes, without cheating).
